The Process

Since the 1990s, dental bonding has gained widespread acceptance as a solution to stained teeth and fillings, and as the leading alternative to metal or porcelain restorations.

"Adhesive" dental bonding materials, or "composites", have improved vastly in strength and beauty properties, as dental manufacturers strive to provide better products to the market.

Many patients are glad to learn about composites, because they can largely be added or "grafted" onto tooth surfaces, resulting in much less grinding of natural tooth structures as compared to other methods. As such, composites, or bonded restorations, are allowing dentists and patients a widely expanded menu of restorative choices.

SmileBond is a patented breakthrough, in the delivery of these dental bonding composites. SmileBond allows enhancements to your smile and your bite alignment, to be made quickly and accurately, compared to conventional dental methods.

At your initial visit, or consult, your unique needs and wishes will be discussed and analyzed with your SmileBond Dentist. Next, a records visit is planned, where impressions of your teeth will be taken and study models created. Other information may also be obtained such as exam findings, x-rays, photos or bite records. (We have found the consult visit to be a very important stand-alone visit but can be combined with the records visit if your schedule demands it.)

Prior to your next visit, the dentist and lab tech will analyze your study models for any defects or problems that they may indicate, such as spaces, wear, fractures, rotations, mis-alignment, or mis-match, and these will then be corrected on the models. Special molds will then be made of the corrected models, and these will eventually be used to deliver the bonding materials to your teeth.

You and your SmileBond Dentist will then review the results of the “before” and “after” models and any final alterations can be made then. Time and cost factors will be discussed at this time with the office financial coordinator, and then you are ready to schedule your SmileBond process!

Your SmileBond day will be an exciting one! Final questions will be answered and final “before” photos will be taken. SmileBond delivery molds will be put in place over your teeth and 1-3 hours later (with breaks included) you will view your new SmileBond Smile! A follow up visit is scheduled for final touch-up, polishing and “after” photos.
